The island of Aegina is one of the Saronic Islands, facing the port of Athens. Although small, the island harbors several towns and villages.

The conference will take place on the north-western part of the island, within walking distance from the port and the greek flavoured old Aegina town and its traditional tavernas. Aegina town must not be confounded with the busy touristic area of Aghia Marina, on the eastern part of the island: http://www.greeka.com/saronic/aegina/aegina-map.htm

Most of the participants will be catered at hotel Danae (http://www.danaehotel.gr/), where the scientific sessions and many of the cultural activities will take place.

Note that hotel Danae is equipped with wifi internet connection available in and around the lobby/lounge area, free to conference participants.

Participants are expected to arrive on Sunday 22 of June and to leave on Saturday morning, 28 of June, 2008.

1) We have made a block reservation of double and single rooms at hotel Danae, at a rate of

53 euros (single with breakfast)

65 euros (double with 2 breakfast)

60 euros (double room for one person with breakfast)

Participants are requested to make the reservations themselves by completing the booking form available here ( in pdf or rtf ) and faxing it directly to the hotel. It will be necessary to provide credit card details to the hotel in order to secure your booking.

In case you wish to share a room with another participant, please consult the list of participants on the conference website, and make direct arrangements with that person (you will be required to put her name on the booking form).

In case all the rooms in Danae will have been booked, you will be redirected to other nearby hotels.

 

2) For cheaper accomodation, we have also reserved Eleni's house in Aegina town, within 10 minutes walking distance from the hotel Danae, http://www.aeginapropertyservices.com/frameset/homesto.htm. This house has 8 double rooms (5 with a double bed, 3 with 2 single beds). The price for accommodation in one of the rooms (independent of the number of persons) is 200 euros per room for the whole week.
